This is probably the single largest thing going on in the science world right now, and many physicists believe it has the potential to blow open whole new volumes in our quest to understand the nature of the universe and existence. Some nay-sayers have said it could create a black hole on earth, but these are the same type who thought the Y2K bug was gonna wipe us out and the millennium was going to be Doomsday or the "second coming" or something.
